Pump Design Engineer - Artificial Lift Interview

      Mar 5, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Baker Hughes (New York, NY) in Jan 2019

      Interview

Interview was very disorganized. The interviewers sounded like they didn't know if they were supposed to interview me. One person didn't even have my resume. They shuttled me between rooms asking me the same questions. The manager told me that he is an introvert so he prefers text messages from those who report to him. When asked about his business card, the manager said he don't have them. He gave his email and refused to give me his number. He said they really need a design engineer for the team because 2 of their good ones quit recently, which didn't surprise me at all. Then I got the number of the 'hiring manager' from one of the interviewers who told me to contact the manager for updates. I left 2 voicemails and a thank you note and he ghosted me. After 3 weeks I got a hold of the HR lady who contacted me first and she said she will check with the hiring manager and get back to me, which still after 4 weeks never did, so I willfully withdrew my application for this job.
