      Pet Care Assistant Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Banfield Pet Hospital

      Interview

I found an ad online (I think on Simply Hired, but I don't recall exactly) that informed me Banfield was searching for a Pet Care Assistant. I submitted my resume online after reading a summary of the position's requirements. I had previous veterinary experience and felt qualified to apply as a PCA. It only take a couple of days before the practice manager called me and said she was interested in scheduling an interview. A few days later, I arrived at the hospital for my interview. There were several clients in the waiting area, so it took a few moments before I was helped. The practice manager was conducting other interviews that ran a little late. She apologized and invited me into one of the exam rooms. She asked me what I knew about Banfield, my previous job experience, and what expectations I had (salary, hours, job requirements, etc). She was very pleasant, honest, and professional. She told me about Banfield, what my position entailed, and even shared the story of how she became involved in the company. She asked if I had any questions, and I responded with a few inquiries I had. After that, she lead me on a tour throughout the hospital and introduced me to the other associates. Everyone was very friendly. When the interview concluded, the practice manager offered me an opportunity to observe the hospital over the weekend. I accepted. My observation lasted a few hours, and afterwards the practice manager offered me the position. I accepted. Once my background check came back clear, I began training with a wonderful team.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

All the questions were pretty standard. I always have trouble answering questions about my personal qualities, so I found it difficult to responding to a particular question about what I could bring to the company.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Banfield Pet Hospital (Saint Paul, MN) in Feb 2022

      Interview

Honestly very unprofessional. The interviewer made fat phobic comments and seemed to not be interested in any of the answers to the questions I provided. She seemed to have her mind made up from the moment I walked in. She said things like "you know this job will require you to move" as if I wouldn't be able to. It was very offensive. She also did not keep conversation going, and continually just didn't say anything after I answered one of her questions. She also offered $15, which is minimum wage in my state. It was a lot of responsibility, bloodwork, vaccines, etc., for as much as I could make at somewhere with less stress.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Banfield Pet Hospital

      Interview

Company called two weeks after applying to set up an interview for the following week. The interview itself was in a pet examination room instead of an office room. The person interviewing me was very kind and easy to talk to, even when I had to ask for clarification on some of the badly worded questions. Promised to call back about the next steps in the interview process but the end of the next week but I never heard back from them.

      Question 1

Describe a time when you and a coworker had a disagreement. How did you settle it?

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Banfield Pet Hospital

      Interview

Multiple interviews, semi professional. I was bounced from one hospital to another as many of the hospitals in my area were understaffed. It took about two months to finally be hired by one hospital after going back and fourth from one practice to another. I dressed business casual which was fine because the people that interviewed me were wearing scrubs. They were all very nice and asked the same general questions. I figured there was going to be some questions about what I knew about banfield as a company so I studied it the night before but they never asked any questions. All around it was an easy process, just obnoxiously long.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What's the main reason you chose Banfield and this hospital specifically.
