I applied in-person and received a phone call to schedule an interview a few days after handing in my application. When I arrived at the store for my job interview, I was told a group interview was being held and that I had to wait for the 3 other applicants to arrive. The group interview was held outside of the store (inside the mall) and away from the entrance. It was casual -- shoppers were walking by, we could speak up whenever we were ready to answer the questions, etc. The first few questions were the usuals... are you a customer at Bath and Body Works? are you familiar with our products? why do you want to work here? do you know the layout of our store? what's your strength? what's your weakness? If we called your ex-boss, what do you think they would say about your performance at that job? At the very end of the interview, we were asked to pick a product from the store and give a sales pitch about that product to the interviewer---talk about the fragrance notes (top, middle, and heart), the ingredients and their benefits (moisturizing shea, exfoliating sea salt, relaxing essential oils, etc), a personal testimony about your experience using the product (were you complimented on how nice it smelled on you? did it make your skin glow, or feel refreshed?), how to combine the product with other products from the BBW line, etc.
