The process spanned 3 weeks across 5 rounds, with fairly regular communication from the HR Team.
Once the 'final' round (4th round) was completed, I had to reach out more, as the HR team became sluggish.
They added on another HR round at the end, delaying making me an offer, despite 'positive feedback' at the end of each round.
It took 3-4 calls and emails to finally get an offer.
All through the process, they'd agreed on a roughly 10-12% hike from my current salary.
After the 'final round,' they tell me a 10% performance bonus would be part of the CTC. Fine.
After the HR round, they apparently underwent a compensation structure change and won't be able to offer me as much as agreed, anymore.
If it was a slight drop of a couple of percentage points, I'd have been fine.
The final offer - insultingly low - lower than what I currently make, with promises of great work culture, other perks, and career growth.
To top it all off, they said they'd be fine with me accepting any higher offer I was getting from elsewhere.
I find it absurd how they think it's ok to waste candidates' time like this.
Agree upon a compensation range, or move on to other candidates.
Pathetic.
