      Accounting &Amp; Finance Recruiter Interview

      Jan 28, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Raleigh, NC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Beacon Hill (Raleigh, NC) in Sep 2020

      Interview

Probably the worst interviewing experience I’ve had. I was approached by one of the internal recruiters about a role. After getting back in touch with her, we scheduled a phone call. We spent a pretty decent amount of time on the phone - it seemed like a good conversation. She then recommended me to speak to their Business Development Manager, as this role would work very closely with them. Same process - the internal recruiter then recommended me to speak with the Managing Director, now the 3rd person. She called me the night before the interview telling me the “role had been put on hold” - red flag, but I understand things happen. She said she would reach out when the role was re-opening, which she was expecting to happen at the end of that month. She encouraged me to keep checking in with her in the meantime. At this time, I was pretty excited! I spent a lot of time interviewing and preparing for my interview what was supposed to be the next day. I tried 3 times to follow up with the initial internal recruiter who reached out to me about the position after a month and a half passed. I was ghosted and received no follow up or response, after being encouraged to check in. If they ended up changing their minds on me, went another direction, whatever it may have been, I would have much rather they had been transparent with me. Completely unprofessional and very disappointing. It would have been one thing if this was a role I applied to, but they reached out to me. Very negative experience.
