First of all, the position is far from a "customer service manager"--the way it was described to me (via unprompted info provided, in addition to my probing questions)--the position, with its job requirements and responsibilities is more in line with an operations manager in addition to having the responsibilities of a customer service manager...of course, without the pay. The process itself was quick--initially. I applied online and received a phone call right away wanting to interview me within the next day or two. I complied with this request (even though I work full time and had to make arrangements to accommodate). I had 1:1 interviews with three people: the director of the group, a current "customer service manager", and the recruiter--and all went well until the subject of salary came up. I knew from the look on the recruiters face that they were not expecting to pay what I was asking, much less what the position is worth or for the experience, talents and skills someone would need to be successful in this role. Nevertheless, I was excited about the role--it was in line with the industry and type of work I had at least 15 years of experience in. Unfortunately, despite the accommodations I made, the immediate and professional "thank you" emails sent, a follow-up email sent with requested info, and several (only once a week) very professional emails to the recruiter, FOUR WEEKS LATER I finally received an extremely unprofessional, impersonal "no thank you" automatic-reply-type email.
