The initial communication was patchy. It was hard to get a hold of the folks setting up my travel and when we finally connected the flight times were terrible. My interview was odd, the interview started with a tour of the assembly plant. After the tour we sat down to talk. He asked about my background and I told him what I had done in avionics safety. He then asked me if I did anything mechanical I told him that my background was electrical. He then asked if I had ever changed a water pump or brakes on my car (I guess that counts as mechanical). I expressed interest in training for more of a mechanical safety position and asked the interviewer if he would still consider hiring me. He told me he just didn't know. After about two hours the interview was over and we parted ways. My flight did not leave DFW until 7 PM and it was only 10:30 AM. Fortunately I was able to catch a standby and was back in Phoenix by 2PM. A month and a half later they called and made me an offer.
