I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Belvedere Trading (Chicago, IL) in Nov 2010
Interview
Applied to job on school career website. On campus interview was a standard behavioral interview. Got back to me less than a week later with a programming assignment that I was required to complete and send it within a week (relatively simpled program dealing with shortest path and storing data, with multithreading, in C++ or C#). I got it in, and got invited to a on-site interview. The interview itself was interesting, at the beginning of the day I was given a sample problem/request from one of the traders, and was given the entire day to ask questions of the interviewers and eventually code up (on paper) a solution. There were four interviewers, and other than letting you ask questions, they also asked behavioral and some technical questions. Interview also included informal lunch with several employees and the other candidates.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Design and code a system to hold stock portfolios, and have mechanisms to merge/add/delete them, among other things.
The interview went very well and the interviewer gone my resume deep dive asked technologies and asked me about my hirevue exam code as well. Like what should be the alternate Algorithm we can use?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Belvedere Trading in Nov 2025
Interview
1 takehome assessment followed by a 3hr technical interview divided into 3 parts: live coding, system design, revision and extension of the takehome assessment code. They've followed up saying they were impressed and would like to do a final round the following week, but 2 days later cancelled saying they don't want to do anymore. Probably the worst interview experience I had.
