I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Benefit Cosmetics
Interview
I initially applied online through the benefit cosmetics website, I then recieved a phone call around a week later regarding my application and was asked to participate in a phone interview, i did so and was generally asked about why i liked benefit, what products were my favourite, what i could bring to benefit cosmetics etc. I was told i passed the phone interview and was invited to an interview the following which, which obviously I accepted, i was told to wear all black. In the run up to the interview i had googled the process online and had read about the traffic stopping part of the interview which naturally i was worried about but just put it to the back of my mind. When i arrived for my interview, i went to the counter and the girl there took me to the interview room (there was already a girl inside so i had to wait outside a while) I then had a one on one interview with two women, who were both lovely and was asked similar questions to the ones in the phone interview as well as about previous experience, avaliability etc. I was then told if i had passed this stage i would be called and invited back to the audition process. I recieved a call a few days later and was invited to attend an audition at another counter (btw both the interview and audition were not held at the counter i was applying for), i was again asked to wear black. When i arrived for the audition there was already 3 other girls there and we had to wait for 1 more, it turns out 3 of us were going for the same counter and the other two were going for another store and the two women conducting the audition were the same ones who done my interview. We waited for the other girl, and then were shown around the counter, shown a few products (although during the traffic stopping process we were able to use any products) and were also shown about the hygiene and cleaning procedures expected at benefit. We were then told we had to traffic stop people and try and persuade them to come and sit down so we can show them some products etc. We done this for about an hour and a half but it was a Wednesday at around 2:30 so it was fairly empty. I managed to get 3 people sat down however none of them bought anything. When the audition was over we were told that they would be in touch the following week. It has now been almost 2 weeks and nobody has been in touch, i am under the impression I clearly did not get the job, however I think it was a bit rude to not call and let us know otherwise, i'm hoping someone will still call just to let me know but I doubt it very much. Overall the recruitment process is an exremely lengthy one but i think its worth it for the interview experience, however i do think its courtesy to at least call someone and let them know they have been unsuccessful but that might just be my opinion.

I applied online. I interviewed at Benefit Cosmetics (Cork) in Oct 2025
Interview
Quick to reply. Very helpful while being so professional. Quick to process you to the next round. The video interview was very handy instead of travelling to the interview on stage 1.

it’s not an interview it’s an audition , you’ll get asked to go to a boots and they will give you info on the best selling products and get you on to the shop floor and you will have to get a customer to sit down and try on the products , you share your product knowledge with the customer and the company are looking to see if you can sell
