I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Benihana (Orlando, FL) in Jan 2017
Interview
Interviewed by two different managers in the same day, one after another. The next night (around 7pm) went back for one final interview from the general manager. General manager hired me on the spot and told me that I could start the next week.
Simple process, I would definitely call and ask for an update on your application, as it is easier to get a direct response from them. They do not answer blind applications as much. (years ago)
Traditional sit-down interviews, they ask previous work experience as well as some situational questions or tests to essentially see how you would react to certain scenarios. Later they put you through roughly 2-hours of virtual training (sit down with an iPad in your face to train you on Benihana culture and expectations)
I liked the process because of my general manager’s good showcase of my role and explanation of the company’s accomplishments and a realistic view of what it’s like working there.
