It is a mixed experience but ultimately seems disorganized. I received a message on LinkedIn to apply for a role that I was excited about. I had a great call with the recruiter. The next step was with the hiring manager when things fell apart. The hiring manager was 10 minutes late and didn't seem at all prepared. She was new to the company and seemed mostly annoyed to be interviewing for the role. She told me what she wanted in the following person (to replace the last person who quit) and then shared feedback about why the previous person wasn't good at their job (shit-talking prior employees is not a good sign). I was surprised I passed the round because I didn't share that much about my experience. I then went through several hoops with the recruiter to schedule a time because schedules kept changing. We finally got time booked, which included a take-home case. I spent 3 hours working on it. Then, the night before the interview, I received an automated email (not personalized) that the role was closed because another candidate in the process had accepted. I was floored. This is not a way to treat people and ultimately reflects poorly on the company brand. Based on this experience, I can't recommend interviewing with BetterUp, and I hope their team reads this to improve.
