To be hired on at Bi-Mart, you have to get a physical application from the store. They only give them out when their front desk has a sign stating that they are hiring. They don't accept résumés, and typically are looking for open availability. Also, you have to be 18 or older to work here. It's a small application, five pages long and most of the space is where you put your work experience. They also have a job description packet inside, the last page has a place that needs to be signed and a box that needs to be checked. If someone fails to submit this last page, or doesn't sign or check the box, the application automatically gets thrown out. I was called about a month or so after I turned in my application, it doesn't usually take this long. I just had someone who knew someone, and was able to get an application in early. This is why I was able to get the interview, however, the store manager let me know that this was not the reason they decided to hire me. The interview had two people, the 1st assistant manager, and the head of a department. I think they usually only have one person do the interview, but if is someone is trying to get into upper management, they allow them to sit in on interviews. It was very relaxed, but that could just be because of the person. From what I hear from transfers, we are a really relaxed store. They were very friendly, and would sometimes go off topic joke around. They asked all of the typical interview questions, "what is your greatest weakness?" "Why did you choose to apply here?" "What are your plans for the next 5 years?" etc I think it was less than a week later that I got a call from them asking me to take a drug test and come in to watch lame videos "teaching" how to work at Bi-Mart.
