I responded to a job posting and contacted the recruiter via Linked In to share my qualifications and express interest in the position. The recruiter arranged a phone screen within a couple day. While talking to the recruiter, there was a lot of noise in her background and then a child screaming. It was very distracting for me as an interviewee, but I appreciate a company providing their employees with remote working options for work life balance, so this wasn't a huge issue for me. A few days later I received an email from the recruiter to schedule a call with the HM (hiring manager). The call went well, she asked about my background, interests and why I left my previous position. After another week or two, I receive an email stating the HM would like me to put together a presentation for her about ideas for initiatives and present to her in another week. I spent a couple hours putting together a presentation, whilst not knowing enough of their issues to give any kind of detail. Presentation went well in my opinion and was told I would hear back by the end of the week. I sent a follow up email to both the recruiter and HM to thank them for their time and received no response. Not even a simple thank you for putting the presentation together! By the end of that week, I never received a response as promised. I followed up with the recruiter again who told me they should know by the end of the week. By this time I was so frustrated with the lack of communication and respect, I didn't even want to work for this company if they provided an offer. I didn't hear back before leaving for a 2 week vacation. After my vacation and in order to close the loop, I followed up one last time and was told they hired someone. No thank you, nothing. Having been a recruiter myself, I really couldn't believe how disrespectful they treat their candidates. Horrible experience! This does not reflect well on their brand.
