I was contacted via email for a phone interview a few days after I submitted an online application. At the time, I had sent out a ton of applications to companies I felt were a culture match but still wasn't that well versed on the company. After the initial phone interview, I was totally sold on the vision and became super motivated to work there. I then had an in person interview where I spoke with everyone on the team (it's a small team in the NYC office). For my second in person interview, I met people from the team based in SF. After a week, I was sent an assignment so I figured I was tied with another candidate. Turns out, that was true and they actually ended up choosing the other candidate over me but said they were still very impressed with me overall. Of course, I was bummed because the office culture seemed a perfect match (which is extremely important to me) but felt like I'd done my best. Less than a week later, a similar position unexpectedly opened up and I was called to potentially fill it. Long story short, I accepted the offer for the similar position. Overall, the experience was extremely positive, even with the back and forth. The team was so professional and accommodating. I'm super excited to be joining the team!!
