I prepared many machine learning algorithms that can be coded from scratch using numpy. However I wasn’t asked any specific machine learning question during phone screens. After a few days I was rejected. The recruiter was very kind and provided me interviewer’s feedback: I don’t have deep knowledge of machine learning.
I take it as an insult. Even if they say I don’t have work experience in software engineering I would accept it.
