I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY) in Sep 2019
Interview
There was a phone interview followed by an on site interview that consisted of 2 technical rounds. One of the interviewers in my first round was rude and made me very uncomfortable. Upon answering behavioral questions the interviewer made it obvious that he was unsatisfied with my responses and wanted more yet I was already answering to the best of my abilities. In the technical portion, the interviewer was misleading and when I was actually on the right track, he would question my logic and say I was incorrect. He even sighed and checked his phone many times during the interview, which I thought was very unprofessional and rude given that I had flown several hours to be on site for the interview. I lost respect for the interviewer and think Bloomberg should be more careful when selecting interviewers to interview candidates. My second round went very well, yet I knew that it would not have any impact on my candidacy. All in all, I felt like my time was not valued there and I had a very unpleasant experience.
Overall, it was a positive and professional interview experience, though the interviewer was on the stricter side. Unfortunately, I was dealing with an illness and wasn't able to prepare as thoroughly as I wanted to, which left me feeling a bit off throughout the conversation. Despite not feeling my best and facing a tough interviewer, the process was well-structured.
Fairly simple. Phone call then onsite. For onsite it was 10 min office tour follow by 1 hr interview then 1 hours system design and 30 mins manager interview. Interviewers were nice and the recruiter was accommodating.
5 rounds first 3 being leetcode coding ones and the last 2 being behavioral. The first three are the hardest asking mainly taggeed questions and the rest are not that bad
