The interview process seem to be an easy process from the start. The HR representative actually reached out to me first about an Equities Data Analyst role in the middle of May at the Princeton office. She seem impressed with my responses and notified me that I’ll be moving on the next round. When I spoke with one of the leaders on the Equities team, she seem not interested despite my great finance background that includes Equity Research. However, from her body language of her literally slouching on camera just tells me a lot about the company. I answered all open ended questions correctly. Heard nothing from the HR rep for a few days, then was told that the company is refocusing it’s hiring for now. I found that to be a lie, due to other recent hires in that division last two months. What I also find interesting is that none of those recent hires came from the same racial background as me. It all made sense when the lack of interest during from the team lead and the obvious lie being told. I feel more sorry for the HR rep who was probably exposed to a different side of one of her coworkers. Would recommend Bloomberg LP to have all interviews recorded in the future so others can see. I respect the company’s impact on the industry, but I just don’t see myself ever interviewing with them again.
