Interview
I learnt about the position through linkedin and applied through the Bloomberg website. I was first contacted by their HR within 2 weeks and he set up two technical phone interviews. Both the technical interviews covered Machine Learning, Data Mining and Algorithms and Data structures questions. There were two people interviewing during each call and the first half was based on questions on core Machine Learning algorithms and the second half was on writing code.
The machine learning questions were good and they were very knowledgeable. The Programming questions were standard ones but not easy so you may need to prepare well.
I did both interviews well but did not pass to the next level for reasons unknown to me. Their interview process is not at all informative and very secretive. The HR did not even bother to call me and explain to me the interview process. And even the interviewers were hesitant to say much about the interview process. Even after 2 technical rounds I did not know what was going to be next.
I really liked the intensity and quality of their interview questions but their interview process is very badly managed and secretive.

Question 1
Some interesting machine learning questions they asked were comparison of Sampling techniques and details about SVM RBF kernels .

Interview
The worst interview experience ever. The interviewer called my several minutes late, which I guess is fine. There were two interviewers, a lady and a guy. They first started out asking me about my resume, but none of them showed any interests in it. The lady asked me one question and we moved on to a online coding session. The question is a standard one, reverse an integer. e.g. 123 -> 321. The lady actually thought about using pow()... Then I asked about their work, the guy told me that they are working on some classification methods. I then asked how accurate their method is. The guy thought I was challenging their product and became impatient, saying 'our product is accurate enough so people will buy it...'
