I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2014
Interview
First I should say that the interview was not at all for the role that I applied for... I applied for an analyst position that described your typical analyst, excel grunt role... I had my first round interview with a social media executive who said the whole department is simply looking for talented people and asked me if I knew anything about social media...
We then had a pretty general interview with typical behavioral questions.
I got invited back for a second and final round. There was a case study beforehand--- it was not your typical consulting case but more like an economic problem. I honestly largely forget the question so I won't try to recreate it. I then had 4 interviews with completely different departments, all of whom warned me about the bureaucracy they faced when I asked them what they liked least about their jobs. The interviews were all very standard chat with me, basic behavioral questions. My only other comment was that the interviews seemed very formal if that makes sense--- they definitely seem like a bit of an older, more formal company.
The one complaint I have is that the process with the recruiter was less than ideal, to say the least. First, she wasn't the best at responding to e-mails in a timely manner, which is kind of your job to communicate with interview canidates as a recruiter. The information she did provide when she finally would e-mail was vague and not all that helpful. I was strung along for weeks and weeks until I finally said look I have other offers that I'm taking... When I did do the case study, she first told me there was a 5 minute reading period, and then I could start writing. I waited for what I'm convinced was more than 5 minutes, and right as I was about to just start writing, she showed up to ask if I needed anything. I said can I write now and she said oh yeah. I used up all of my time and it would've been nice to be able to write for those couple extra minutes... Overall my poor expeirence with the recruiter has been repeated with several friends I know that interviewed with BCBSA.

I applied online. I interviewed at Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2016
Interview
There was an initial phone interview with a recruiter, after that I had another phone interview with one of the hiring managers and finally I was brought in for an in person interview. The last interview consisted of meeting with four individuals. The questions where standard, why are you interested in working for BCBSA; what made you want to apply; what would you say is one of your strength and so on.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2015
Interview
Quite Exhausting. Had first round on campus interview. then a second round interview day, consisting of a written case (1 hr) and four interviews with managers in groups they are considering you for. Afterwords, depending on the group (i believe) you may have a third round which is five interviews with members of the group that they determine is the best fit.The process overall is pretty exhausting, but each individual interview was definitely a positive experience.

Question 1
Written case was interesting, they have you use excel presumably to see if you are comfortable with it. A lot of time in each interview is spent talking about the structure of the association, make sure you come prepared with 15+ good SUBSTANTIVE questions. A lot of personality and fit questions, along with questions about analytical ability and experiences.
