Got an interview through an acquaintance, was asked a few questions about my technical knowledge, and was hired on the spot. There was literally no more to the process. I'd already had a few months of web hosting tech experience from my previous company that folded, so I applied for the same sort of position here and the basic knowledge I had learned at the previous job was enough to get me hired. I understand that though there is still a lot of training after being hired these days, the expectation of more knowledge at the interview is greater now.
