I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Boston Consulting Group (Boston, MA) in Feb 2018
Interview
I reached out to the HR through linkedin and got connected. I emailed the HR my resume but didn't get a response until a week after. HR wanted to schedule a screening call with me within 1-2 days. After screening, HR didn't get back to me whether I got promoted to next round until I emailed them 2nd time to follow up. She set up a call for me with another Consultant and told me to prepare for technical questions and perhaps a case.
On the day of interview, I dialed into the bridge few minutes early just in case. The interview didn't get on until after 8 minutes (I emailed HR after a few minutes we were supposed to start to ask whether the interview was still ongoing). It was obvious to me that the interviewer didn't prepare for the interview at all. We had a lot of phone connection problem during the call. I also had challenges understanding him due to his strong accent. I asked him to repeat his questions several times but could tell he still wasn't satisfied with my answers. At the end, he asked me if I had question for him. I asked him several questions but he was unable to answer (questions include: in your opinion, what is BCG's strongest value proposition against its competitors? how would you describe your experience here at BCG vs. before at xxx?)
After call ended, I emailed HR thanking them for connecting us and explained to them the technical difficulties. I didn't hear back until almost 2 weeks after that I wasn't shortlisted.
