Well planned phone interview with the hiring manager followed by interview with ~ 8 senior members of the department. The process was well executed and communication was timely. The hiring manager explained the process and approximate timeline well.

It was started by phone call from human resource after ~6 months since I submitted my application. Next, virtual interview by a panel was arranged and I did a 1 hour professional presentation, which was will received.

easygoing interview, an entire day (~5hrs total) plus hiring manager video call on another day.
people seemed friendly. some awkward feeling when the topic about some people in the group left recently.
contacted HR person and then hiring manager about the application a few weeks later. no response.
then waited 24 days to see that my application was no longer under consideration.
it's really appreciated if someone answers the email even with a short line saying that they will go forward with another candidate...
