Great initial screening call with the recruiter. Then things went downhill. Same old schtick we always hear. You check all the boxes in the job description, are fully capable of doing the job and you have years of experience in it under your belt. You have a seemingly good call and rapport with the department manager or managers. Rejected a day later and position reposted with no rhyme or reason and no follow ups are answered. Just tossed in the trash like a used Kleenex and ghosted. You are no longer worthy of a response or their attention because you are no longer human to them. These same hiring people are the first ones turning around upset wondering why candidates don't bother going above what they need to in order to get in front of them (writing cover letters, sending thank you emails, being enthusiastic during the interview). It gets ignored and some highly qualified person's efforts and energy go to waste - so the candidates are dry and 'whatever' now. What's the point. It's time to start holding these hiring people accountable and sharing our voices because I for one am sick of the treatment of candidates. I guess during my interview I shouldn't have made it look like I could do their jobs much better than they can which would force them to be in my boat now seeking new employment.

Interview process was very smooth and pleasant. Met with the department manager who was very nice and explained the details of the position well. Employees seemed to be generally happy and were very friendly. Met with only one person. Interview was relatively informal.
