      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Buro Happold in Apr 2018

      Interview

After I had applied and completed the first stage of the hiring process (psychometric tests), I was invited to a video interview. I have done plenty of them but this one was one of the most difficult ones. The questions were kind of irrelevant to the position I had applied for (for example one of them was about the skills an effective consultant should have but I had applied for a water engineer role).

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1) Sum of all the numbers from 1 to 100 2) You have a 3 and a 5 liter water container. You also have a running tap. You must use the containers and the tap in such a way as to exactly measure out 4 liters of water. What is the the minimum number of pourings you can do to achieve that? 3)There are 9 balls out of which one ball is heavy in weight and rest are of the same weight. In how many occurrences will you find the heavy ball? 4) You roll a dice 3 times. What is the probability to land on the same side all the three times? 5) There are 3 letters, one is a job offer and the other two are rejections. You choose one and it is a rejection. Your manager offers you to take a second letter. Would you take it? 6) What is your opinion about sustainability in the future in the build environment 7) Who do you think is more important to the society, the Comedian the Engineer or the Doctor? And why? 8) What are the two most important skills an effective consultant should have? 9) Give an example of a time you invented or improved a process 10) Tell us a time that team work helped you to produced better results than you would on your own 11) Tell us a time you worked on a project with little or no instruction. How did you manage to complete it

      Interview

I applied online and was invited to complete a video interview within a week. The interview lasted no more than 20 minutes and involved recording my answers to pre-written questions. The first few questions were brainteasers and then the questions were more related to the role. It was a bit daunting seeing myself on the screen to record the answers but once I had completed a couple of questions I felt more relaxed. After 6 weeks I received an email to say I was unsuccessful and unfortunately no feedback was provided, however I would still reapply to this company in the future.

      Interview

Video interview, consisting of 12 questions. 4 or 5 of them had to do with really struggling math questions ( completely irrelevant to the subject ), while the rest of them mostly dealt with abstract questions about the person's character and point of view.
