      Anonymous Interview

      Nov 2, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Bustle (New York, NY)

      Interview

I sent my resume to a recruiter who passed along my resume to the head editor. The interview with the editor was so pleasant and super easy that I began seeing myself fitting in with the team--but like everyone else on here said, it's all smoke and mirrors. Two weeks after submitting my edit test, I also got an email saying the position was closed followed by an email saying it was an accident and I was still in the running for the role. Then, two weeks after radio silence, I email the editor for an update to find that the role really was closed... Extremely unprofessional hiring practices here. What on Earth compelled me to apply thinking I'd be any different, I don't know. Apply at your own risk.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about yourself and your current role--then the editor explained the position and the company culture.
