      Associate Consultant Interview

      Mar 26, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at C Space (London, England) in Mar 2019

      Interview

I first got contacted by a recruiter and sent through my C.V. A first stage interview was arranged. I met with two consultants. They were both friendly and professional, and they asked me some questions about my past experiences and how they could relate to the role I was applying to. The conversation took on a more generic turn about brands and how they understand their customers. I genuinely enjoyed this interview because I felt the conversation was interesting, and that the consultants cared about my answers. They also asked some other questions about how I would act at work, and what were my perceived strengths and flaws. The following day they were in touch to arrange a second stage interview. This interview involved making a presentation about a task directly relating to the work you would do as an associate consultant at C-Space. They had also given me some feedback from the first interview, which was really helpful because it helped me targetting the research I needed to make for the second interview. For instance, even though they felt like I was passionate about being an employee at C-Space, they had failed to see I would be passionate about the job itself. So they recommended I spend some time reading about the job and where it can take you as your career progresses. I took plenty of time to prepare the task and make a nice powerpoint. On the interview's day, I met two different people, who were equally friendly and professional. They asked me some questions to see whether I had taken the feedback on board (i.e. slightly more technical questions about research and being a consultant). I then made the presentation in a relaxed setting, and they questioned me about the presentation, my thinking and possible flaws I could identify in the work they sent, (they are looking to see whether you are able to formulate some constructive criticism). I also had a language test because I was applying for a bilingual role. The test was based on translating a piece of some work they do, so it gives you a good idea of whether you have the language level they are looking for. The following day, they invited me for a 'meet the team' interview'. This was simply a quick meeting with a few employees, some had interviewed me before and others I met for the first time. We discussed some work things but also got to know each other a little bit. Everyone was friendly in a genuine way, and the conversation flowed naturally. I think they just want to see whether you can talk to people in a less formal setting, and would fit okay with your team. Just be yourself and down to earth and that bit would work just fine. At the end of that lunch, they had already hinted they wanted to make an offer, and I got an offer the following day. In a nutshell, the interview process at C-Space is one of the best I have ever been through. It was quick and professional. I got to know about 7 employees, which helped me get a good idea of the type of work culture they have there, beyond what they say of their website. I really liked that the interview process was based on my skills and abilities and that they clearly tell you what you need to do and what they are looking for so that you can perform your best.

      Interview

Two interviewers took the place. One Senior Consultant and one middle level consultant. They started from introducing myself, and continuing with questions about collecting data and build a relationship with customers. They also gave me a situation question as well.

      Interview

The interview process included two behavioral interviews and then a case interview. The case was more qualitative in nature and seemed related to what the company actually did. The behavioral interviews were pretty standard questions asking about work history, strengths, and why I was interested in the company/role.
