I applied online. I interviewed at CARVANA in Sep 2022
Interview
Was cold messaged via recruiter on LinkedIn about an open position. I received an email to set up an interview and was pretty excited, it seemed to be a great fit.
They sent an email with a little video about their culture and how exciting it was to work there. Coming from a company that also boasted about culture, I understood the climate.
I received 4 emails reminding me of my interview the days leading up to it. The day of, I got ready and set up my phone to interview. Good thing I decided to check my emails because the recruiter had cancelled my interview MINUTES before it was to begin.
For a company that says they care about people, it does not seem so. For a company that talks about the culture and doing the right thing, this proves differently.
I am upset because my excitement came to a screeching halt, however maybe it is a blessing in disguise. I don’t think a company that ghosts candidates or cancels interviews so abruptly is one I want to spend my life with anyways.
Hopefully this is not a reflection of their general people skills or how they treat their clients.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CARVANA (Tempe, AZ) in Sep 2025
Interview
The interview process was incredibly lengthy, and the salary did not match the scope of work. A month and two weeks and meeting with six individuals. The candidate journey was not very smooth.

VP reached out on LinkedIn and scheduled a call with him.
I then had a formal phone screen with a TA member.
From there I had a video interview with the hiring manager then fully ghosted without any rejection.

Interview
I applied for the lead position on a Monday and was selected for an interview on Thursday. During the call, I had an excellent conversation with the recruiter. I believe I met and exceeded the job requirements; however, I later received a message stating that I was not selected. It seems to me that they do not place a high value on experience when making hiring decisions.
