CARVANA Senior Analyst, Logistics Strategy interview questions

The recruiter had to move my interview at the last minute due to a last-minute mandatory meeting she had to attend. This made me think there may be many fire drills in the Carvana culture. I was asked if I was currently working remotely, and informed that Carvana is going to begin working from the offices starting in October. I said that wouldn’t be acceptable to me given the risk of COVID and passing it to my unvaccinated children. The recruiter didn’t have a definitive answer on whether the company/team would be flexible about this - even though there is no business need for the role to be in the office. While she was trying to get clarification on the in-office expectation, she asked about my compensation, which was outside the range of the role. This wasn’t the fault of the recruiter, but in the end it was a waste of time, and my impression of the Carvana culture is not a positive one. It’s also confusing to me that the company wants to support people in buying cars remotely (game changing for the industry), but doesn’t support appropriate roles working remotely. I declined to move forward.
