I was contacted by a recruiter and we discussed my resume and experience. Was told I may or may not be contacted by the sales manager for an interview. Had to take a couple of online tests even before I spoke to the recruiter.
A few days later the recruiter called me to set-up a phone interview with the sales team for the following week. That interview was typical; "where do you see yourself in five years", "how experienced are you calling on customers to get business". I was immediately turned off by the fact that they weren't interested in talent and were just looking for a phone drone. The job sounded a lot like telemarketing and not a true sales job.
I guess my vast, actual sales, experience wasn't what they were looking for and I received a canned e-mail saying they were looking for a different type of applicant. The e-mail went on and on how they are the best and hardest company to get a job with but don't give up keep applying. Thanks but no thanks.
I thought I was hitting all the interview questions but I think I was a little to ambitious. I could tell they didn't like that I wanted to do well and get promoted. They are just looking for robots who are content on being in the same sales position year after year. Honestly, after the experience of talking to this so called sales team, I would have turned down an offer.
If you want to work for a high pressure company that doesn't value you and only cares about how many calls you can crank out this is the place for you.
