The interview process started off really well. The first round with the hiring manager went smoothly, and I was invited for an on-site interview with the leadership team, which also went great. The recruiter was super nice and accommodating every step of the way, making the process very pleasant initially.
However, the final round with their Dubai partner was a completely different experience. From the moment the interview started, it was clear that he had no intention of giving me a fair chance. He was unprofessional and rude, and within the first 30 seconds, I could tell he had already made up his mind. Instead of asking relevant technical questions, he repeatedly said, "I’m not convinced you can do this job." This was surprising, considering the role wasn’t a senior position, and I had twice the experience required, including extensive knowledge of the specific system they needed.
I strongly believe his attitude had nothing to do with my abilities and everything to do with my nationality, although I can’t prove it. It was a disappointing and disheartening experience, but I decided to move on.
