This was only the telephone call, which in my understanding represents the first stage only of the recruitment process to which follows one ore more face-to-face interview in their Cambridge office. I was interview by the MD. I was really interested in the job, did my researches and prepared a couple of answers, also I already used COMSOL Multiphysics in multiple occasions so was very confident about the product. Nonetheless, the interviewer was rude in her manner and asked sales related questions which in my opinion are far from the contest for a phone stage interview. She asked technical specific questions to which I had no problem to reply but in general the interview was not a good experience at all. I sincerely doubt they will invite me for the second interview, but even if they would I will refuse. Completely unprofessional.

I was approached by a recruiter and he talked me about the role and he passed my CV to the MD of Comsol UK. Initially, I had telephone interview with the MD discussing my current role and whether I am best fit... and thereafter I was invited for a Face to Face interview on site. I was re interviewed by the MD for about 20 minutes and I was further interviewed by Commercial & Academic Sales Managers who one of them had a P.hd in Engineering from Oxford University and the Academic Sales Manager is from Physics background. The were testing my technical & commercial knowledge but putting a lot of emphasis on my technical knowledge. I showed some understanding of the testing softwares ( FEA, CFD, ANSYS) and how will I approach & develop new and existing clients and furthermore I was given an hour and 15 minutes test to judge my numerical and writing skills. Overall the experience was ok, but I could see through them that I wasn’t going to make it but I stayed positive and I was constantly selling my skills and credentials. I was emailed 2 days later by the recruiter and I was informed that I wasn’t successful which genuinely broke my heart!! I was willing to relocate and start a new life in Cambridge - But, the good thing is that it gave me chance to enhance my technical knowledge and improve my interview skills.
