It took them awhile to respond to my application at first, though in this market that is expected. However, I was surprised to learn that before anyone spoke with me they would be sending me a personality test. As someone who has been in HR for several years, I find these tests incredibly dated and biased, especially when given before any conversations happen. When I followed up asking for feedback on why I was rejected, I was told there were candidates whose experience aligned more with the role which. Again, I was surprised considering the only experience they know is what was on my resume which they had already seen when they moved forward with my application. My advice would be if you insist on using a personality test as an interview step (versus a data gathering opportunity to validate and verify in an interview), you should be transparent with candidates on where they may not have aligned.
