Applied through an online job board and was contacted by the sales manager almost immediately.
Went in for my initial interview and was asked a few questions as well as given an aptitude test. Everything went great...the manager and I got along really well and I was asked to come in the following week.
The second "interview" wasn't so much of an interview, it was more of a one-sided conversation with the manager. Throughout the conversation, the manager mostly talked about himself, what he did, and how successful he is. Later on in the interview I was given another aptitude test as well as a personality test, and finally asked some questions. The manager told me that I was doing "great" and that I "would be extremely successful at this job."
We scheduled my "final interview", which is where I would spend a day with the other sales reps, do a hypothetical selling presentation and get an idea for what a day in the life of a Cumulus Sales rep would be like. Everything went well. Everyone was really nice and I was extremely prepared for the presentation. I was even told, by the sales manager, it was "the best presentation he has seen in a long time" and was asked if he could keep my PowerPoint slide to show to other people throughout Cumulus. At the end of the shadow day, the Manager told me that I did great throughout the interview process. We talked about salary, benefits, expectations, etc and at the end of that conversation he told me he wanted me to start in two weeks...all I had to do was have a "brief conversation" with someone from their corporate office in Atlanta.
The phone conversation was set up VIA the sales manager and I called the Cumulus corporate office approximately two days after my shadow day at Cumulus. This "brief conversation" lasted about 1.5 hours where I was asked any and every question you could think of. The phone call finally ended and even though it was tiresome, I thought I did well.
It has been 3 weeks since my last contact with anyone from Cumulus and I have STILL NOT heard anything regarding this position. I think the way that this interview was handled is extremely unprofessional. A simple phone call or email, from anyone at Cumulus telling me a "No" or a "Yes" would have been greatly appreciated.
Overall the interview process was extremely easy but unprofessional. The feeling that I took away from it was that the Manager was bored and wanted to entertain himself for a few (or 10) hours!
