I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at CVS Health (Las Vegas, NV) in Dec 2013
Interview
Interview process was pretty straight forward. Introduction, this is what you will be doing, why CVS, what is your background in customer service, etc. I was later called back for a second interview with more of the same line of questioning and was hired on the spot. After about a week I learned that the real reason I was hired was because they needed to quickly fill a position where 7 previous employees quit during that same year. The reason they quit was because the overnight staff was made to be a scapegoat for anything that went wrong. Not only that, there was constant turmoil between supervisors and cashiers due to the fact that the store manager didn't establish clear roles or support the supervisors in any way. This lead to cashiers essentially cursing out the supervisors on a daily basis and stating that they refused to do the tasks that the managers had set for them to do over their shifts. Respect is something that must clearly be earned, however it was impossible to earn the respect of the cashiers since they were used to refusing to work and had gotten away with it for so long as well as the fact that the manager had given no real authority to the supervisors. I never got a chance to learn what positives CVS could provide since the work environment was so toxic that I resigned soon after. All I can say is anyone who applies to CVS should find out "why" the position is open in the first place. Also, casually talk with the employees to find out their general tone about how they feel working at that CVS location is.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CVS Health (Alcoa, TN) in Nov 2015
Interview
I called about a position posted on the electronic board in front of a store. They told me they had hired someone already and I left my number. They gave my number to another store manager who needed someone. Face to face interview was quick and painless but the rest of the application process took FOREVER! Application, ,multiple "assessment" tests online which were slow and tedious. Then had to wait 2 weeks for background check to come back, drug test at Labcorp (no clue how long that took for results) and then had to wait another week for the "orientation" day which was 8 hours of paperwork and geared towards people who had never had a job before.
