I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Calfus (Bengaluru) in Jul 2025
Interview
Initially, my first round was scheduled over the weekend, but after three postponements by the HR team. HR should understand that candidates also need to clear their calendars for interviews. The first round was straightforward—three coding questions that I answered well.
The second round was where things got strange. It was scheduled the same day and was with a director-level interviewer. Honestly, he seemed to have zero idea about conducting a technical interview—asking vague questions and then requesting me to explain the design of my one of my project. The moment I started explaining, he interrupted, saying I was “disclosing company technical details,” which completely threw me off. Moments later, he asked why I switch jobs frequently. I explained clearly—my first company shut down, and my second company laid me off due to COVID. Despite that, he labeled me “unstable.” The whole experience felt totally unprofessional.

Interview
1. Application Process:
I was In Mailed by the Recruiter on LinkedIn and the process was quite swift, and I received a call from HR within a day.
2. Interview Rounds:
There were 3 main rounds in total:
HR Screening (15–20 min):
A quick and friendly conversation focused on my background, current role, notice period, and why I’m interested in Calfus. The recruiter also explained the company’s vision and the hiring culture they’re building.
Hiring Manager Round (45–60 min):
A deep dive into my past experience with recruitment strategy, stakeholder management, sourcing techniques, DEI hiring, and using data to drive decisions. The interviewer was structured but conversational, asking scenario-based questions to gauge my thought process.
Stakeholder Round (30–45 min):
This round focused on alignment with Calfus’s values, adaptability in high-growth environments, and handling tough situations like offer drop-offs or last-minute changes. The stakeholder appreciated honest examples and were open about their expectations.
3. What Stood Out:
The interviewers were warm, sharp, and genuinely interested in understanding who I am beyond the resume.
Questions were thoughtful, with a clear focus on strategic thinking, collaboration, and candidate experience.
I got a strong sense that Calfus invests in its recruitment team as true partners in business growth — not just transactional roles.
4. Final Thoughts:
The process was transparent and respectful throughout. Even if you’re used to fast-paced tech hiring, Calfus strikes a great balance between agility and depth in interviews. I left the process with a very positive impression of both the team and the company culture.
