Applied online. Contacted by a recruiter. Had an interview screen by phone. Then met with hiring manager via zoom. Then met with two administrators, then two project managers.
Very bizarre and offputting experience overall. Recruiter was nice and the phone screen went well. The hiring manager was super nice, very solicitious, and was very pleasant to talk to.
The third interview was the worst, however. One of the two Salesforce admins was downright rude and seemed determined to put me on the defensive. The admins put a technical test at the end of the interview which was way too complex and too long for the interview time allotted. The ill-timed technical test caused us to run over time, which prevented me from asking questions of them. Normally technical screens happen early in the process, not at the end. The two project managers were nice and asked appropriate questions.
Finally I was told I wasn't being offered the position because I lacked sufficient development (!) skills, even though a request for dev experience is literally one bullet point in the job description. This is a Sr. Admin/Management position, not a Salesforce Developer position. The fact that they want an experienced developer makes the entire position description quite misleading (not to mention underpaid).
Overall the process left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Oh, and when looking for email addresses to send thank-yous in their company directory, I also found the online directory to be over a year out of date. The hiring manager isn't even listed there. That makes the company seem amateurish. Well, it is a nonprofit after all.
