RFA - Regional Field Analyst Interview

      Mar 19, 2009

      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Canon U.S.A. in Jun 2008

      Interview

I had been a previous Canon USA employee. They reached out to me to interview for a return position. The normal interview process is 1) phone screen by HR, 2) Manager phone screen, 3) In person interview with HR, Manager. and a Senior level staff person. Those three interviews are all separate interviews. If the process moves forward, then there is a repeat meeting with Manager, Senior level person, then Director. At this point, the offer will be presented. In my interview, most of the above steps were passed and right into the interview with the Manager and Director. It was a normal, average interview. Nothing extra special worth mentioning. The office culture there is Japanese influenced. From this, one is meant to fit into the culture and not rock the boat. People with ideas that are expressed are not embraced here. One does not question leadership, regardless of the type of question or the delivery. Understand you are a worker bee. The biggest negative when interviewing with Canon USA is the lack of follow up. If they want to move forward, it is a slow consuming process. If they do not want to move forward, you will find out with no response at all. They will not respond to phone calls or emails. Funny isn't it. They want you to follow up if they are interested, bu the professional courtesy is not returned.
