I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Capital Group (Irvine, CA) in Jul 2019
Interview
I applied and had a phone interview with the recruiter. Afterwards I was given a data science project which I worked on and submitted. After couple of days I reached out to the recruiter who said the Hiring manager was not around. Weeks after I reached out by mail and the recruiter said he will soon get back to me. I sent another mail after and the recruiter did not reply. After investing time in doing the project I feel a rejection mail in such scenerio would have been better than ghosting a prospective candidate.

Interview
The hiring process is a complete mess. After passing the interviews and being told they wanted to move forward, their third-party background check vendor took over a month just to verify basic university student jobs.
Because of that massive delay, the process dragged on. My original recruiter left, and the new one completely ghosted me for weeks. When I finally got her on the phone to force an update, they hit me with a bait-and-switch, saying they were trying to change the role to a Senior level and were basically keeping me around as a backup plan. Wasted months of my time.
Fix your background check vendor and train your recruiters to actually communicate with candidates when internal changes happen. Ghosting people for weeks/months and stringing them along as a backup is wack and ruins your reputation with good talent.
3 rounds with HR, Call, and Panel Interview Day with Team Members; average difficulty; project application based. Helpful to know about the company's core products and culture as well as fit. No surprise questions or directions
