I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Nottingham, England) in Apr 2015
Interview
After a numerical test I was invited to their assessment centre although it took some time to get back to me. Group assessment and presentation related to CapitalOne's operations, fairly easy however participation matters be active as competition is high; then interview with operations manager very friendly and mostly competency questions why you?what can you offer?. Lastly a case study with a director who was very friendly.

Question 1
Why CapitalOne?
Describe a difficult situation you faced with a colleague/ classmate.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Capital One
Interview
Usual process of tests and phone interview etc. I was lucky enough to go to a targeted university and benefited from the fast track process they were running. After online tests I was invited to the assessment day.
General perceptions of the assessment day were actually very positive. All of the people I met were engaged with the interview, passionate about what they did and they made it an enjoyable experience. We talked about the mathematics of marketing strategies and several case studies. Really interesting and I think I learnt a lot.
The assessment day had a group case study with 2 people taking notes on us. I found the others hard to work with and at times rude, but I was told that they didn't make it to the final stage.
The final stage consisted of a short 1 to 1 interview with a senior member of the company. I must say, I expected a hell of a lot better from Capital One. The person who was interviewing me was not engaged with the interview at all. He came in late, smelling of gin, appeared tired and did not properly introduce himself. He just told me to sit down and work through a problem on a sheet without giving me any proper guidance. It was a real struggle communicating with the interviewer and even when I came to provide solutions to the problems he didn't even write down my answers right.
They still haven't provided me feedback from the final stage interview, despite me repeatedly calling them up asking for information. They haven't even sent me an official acceptance/rejection email either.
