I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One in Feb 2022
Interview
I applied for practice purposes before FAANG interview. If you want to work here, you can memorize the answer. all questions exist in glassdoor. Interviewers seem friendly but all process is not professional nor structural.
-Code Signal 4 question but solving the first 2 questions is enough to pass it. You can take practice taking everyday before your online assessment. They are not exactly same but it gives an idea. The First 2 questions are really easy. 3. and 4th can be challenging. but they don't expect you to solve it.
PowerDay
1. Design Round: the typical question exist here.
It was a weird interview. One of the interview was sitting in a reclining position. He was too lazy to answer the questions. Sometimes I couldn't here what he said.
2. Coding Round: LeetCode easy
One of the interviewers has a strong Indian accent. He only reads the question. I asked questions to clarify it but he didn't direct me correctly. I understood the real question in the middle of the interview. If they copied pasted the question on the Codesignal, it would be much easier to understand for me.
3. Behaviroul
No issues here. He is also Indian but he was so much helpful. He repeated questions 2 times. Explained the star structure etc. Questions are typical behaviour questions. Conflict with team member.
Time you had changing requirements to project and how did you handle it?
4. Case Round. The totally unnecessary part.
The time was the end of the day. She was in the mood of complete the interview and go. She was also taking care of kid. I don't mind. it is ok we are all work from home but when I asked the question, I guess she missed or didn't understand correctly. She was destructed, tired and trying to speed up . Copied pasted lots of code blocks. She asked questions what is the output kind of questions. It is not difficult but the interviewer structure making hard to follow and understand what does she want. They can prepare more structured environment for those questions.
Overall my observation is that this interview is great preparation for faang interviews. It is a free mock interview. Other than, I wouldn't want to work there. Salary is also average or under average.

Question 1
Conflict with team member.
Time you had changing requirements to project and how did you handle it?
Was not too difficult. three total interviews all on the same day back to back. technical one, behavioral one and a case which was more of just a debugging question
Expecting a challenging experience, I found the interview at Capital One to be intense, particularly during the system design section. The question on designing a rate limiter with a token bucket algorithm took me by surprise; mid-way through the problem, I realized it was very similar to a drill I’d practiced on prachub.com just days earlier. The technical rounds included several DSA questions, and the interviewers were thorough but supportive. Ultimately, I received an offer and happily accepted, feeling well-prepared despite the pressure.

Question 1
Design a rate limiter using a token bucket algorithm and discuss how it would handle bursty traffic and distributed deployments.
Recruiter screening to begin with. Then, technical discussion about java, spring boot, design pattern, small coding tasks and followed by design assessment for distributed systems. Finally, managerial round for the team fit
