      Sales Interview

      Sep 28, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Waltham, MA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Carbon Black (Waltham, MA) in Mar 2016

      Interview

They were very disorganized and didn't seem like they knew what they wanted. The people interviewing didn't seem like they wanted to be there. The questions they asked were easy, but the people interviewing you don't have a say in if you get hired. Seemed like a lot of it was just put together on the sport.

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry that you felt your interview experience was rushed or not taken seriously but we can assure you that all members who interviewed you are very much involved in the hiring process. We not only include interviewers to vet out skill set, but also to identify great culture fit. Interview schedules and interviewers are well thought out prior to a candidate coming onsite and we apologize if that wasn’t apparent. We’ll consider your feedback for future interviews and wish you the best of luck on your future opportunities!

      Interview

I always thought of VMware as a high quality organization until now. The interview with Carbon Black was unprofessional! It started with a recruiter who consistently misled you to thinking you had the job. The next step “interview “ calls with peers were a mess. A senior rep who was very busy that could only offer 15 minutes and an SE who had not sold before asking advice for a deal he was working on! Huh?? (The HR person said to let them run the call saying these calls weigh the heaviest in you getting the position). Unbelievable! So my existing executive customers, leader as a security sales hunter and work ethic count for what?

      Interview

Quick, great communication throughout the process. Oversold on culture and quality of people and level of company experience selling into the enterprise market. More of an inside sale model
