It was several rounds of phone interviews from the recruiter to team members to the hiring manager. The overall process went smoothly and it was great to get the insights from the team members.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Carbon Black (Boston, MA) in Jul 2017
Interview
Went through many phone interviews and was sent to the Boston office for a full day of in person interviews. I interviewed with several long term employees that have been around since the company was founded. They were very arrogant about how they do things which seems a bit backwards from the leaders in the security space. Although they paid for my airfare and hotel, they did not reimburse for any other expense (They did tell me they would reimburse for cabs and expenses and I did submit an expense report). I am out about $300 and a couple of days of vacation that I had to burn to go interview. Not impressed with the company, culture, and being stiffed on expenses.

Question 1
Lots of people asking the same question. "Tell me about yourself". Very unstructured. JV
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Carbon Black (Boston, MA)
Interview
Phone screen with HR, then phone screen with hiring manager. Hen brought in for on-site with team. Interview went fine, told I would be called back in for a second round as I was a finalist. After a few weeks with no word, I contacted HR and they said they decided to offer role to someone else. A month and a half passed and saw same opening on the website as well as multiple other sources. I contacted HR and they said same thing. Just be honest with your candidates and tell them you are not being selected, don't lie to candidates and waste their time when they could be looking for other opportunities. Very unprofessional. I hope someone from the company addresses this poor business practice.
