The company had an outside job posting on indeed, but it specifically directed the applicant to apply on the company website. On the application for the website, it asked for comments on previous work history and a series of availability questions. A day later I received an email inviting me to an interview to which I accepted set for two days later. I’m not entirely sure if my interview time frame was communicated properly, as I waited for 10-15 minutes past my interview time. I don’t believe I was expected. Once the interviewers we’re ready, the interview itself was extensive and lasted about 30-40 minutes of questions and getting to know me and vice versa. It did not say whether mastery of the product was required on the application, but I was transparent and forthcoming about my basic knowledge of their business and products. It seemed I was liked by one of my interviewers, but not the other, and the overall mood of the interview felt awkward and uncomfortable due to this. The majority of the team was primarily male and being female interviewing for a company in a position with extensive inventory and warehouse experience, seemed I wasn’t a right fit due to my lack of knowledge of the product.
