I applied online, their recruiting team reached out right away and set up an interview with the Sales director. Recruiter was incredibly kind, very helpful and full of energy. The Sales Director reached out later that week we had a very awkward maybe 30 minute discussion. He introduced himself told me a little about the job then asked me if I had any questions about the role. I didn't but decided to speak when given the opportunity. I told him about my experience, asked some open ended questions about the company where its headed the opportunities and their growth plans and waited for an answer. I received very generic answers about how its a start up and thats exciting but when it came to specific answers to my questions he said he didn't know it's too early to tell. I've worked at startups, I wasn't ok with the answer but I get it. He then asked me again, if I had any questions, I tried to volunteer more specific work experience and start a conversation It didn't really take, I was then asked a third time what do you want to know about the job, to which I replied I't sounds pretty straight forward, what are the next steps? He then told me they have other people further in the interview process, he thinks they will make an offer to one them next week and will reach out if they want to talk to me after. I tried to set a firm follow up, and was told if we want to talk to you hr will reach out sometime later. Overall a very awkward, and uninformative interview, not sure why he took it if he had no intention of interviewing me.
