My interview took place about 5 years ago, but I do recall that I received the first phone call from a recruiter, 6-8 weeks after my initial online application. In that time, I submitted my resume for similar positions in various departments and locations within the company, and followed-up with at least 1 phone call to H.R. I think I was given a phone interview with the initial phone call as well, but I cannot be certain. An interview with was scheduled with the director of the hiring unit, and took place about 1 week following the phone call. The questions were typical interview questions, most of which I had anticipated, and I do not remember the interviewer asking any unexpected, or difficult-to-answer questions. I felt fairly confident after the face-to-face meeting, especially when I was given a tour of the unit and was introduced to most of the staff I would be working with, at the conclusion of the interview. It may have been the same day, or the following day, when instructed to complete the final steps of the hiring process, which were mostly formalities through H.R. While the waiting period for the initial phone call was above average, I remember the process that followed went very quickly, and I left the formal interview with a strong indication that an official offer would follow shortly.
