I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Carl's Jr (Montclair, CA) in Jul 2015
Interview
The interview was extremely brief, it was with the assistant manager. She was extremely nice and down to earth so i warmed up to her quick. The only thing that got me irritated was her "qualifications" necessary for the job. She was looking for someone that primarily focused on friendly service to the clientele. Some one who was "playful with everyone yet serious". And she felt that i wasnt that. She even pointed out how i laughed during the interview and said " you smiled! see that's what im looking for." Haha as if im allergic to smiling. I don't know she was very nice and down to earth but that was not only a bit irritating but weird.

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Carl's Jr (Grass Valley, CA) in Nov 2025
Interview
Went inside and let them know I was there about 5 minutes early, the interviewer was a little late cause they were pretty busy with the drive thru, when she sat down we mostly talked about the surrounding area, she asked a few questions about my schedule and if I had a mode of transportation, nothing really hard. She let me know the GM said there wasn't any room for new hires but she would add me to a list and if they had someone quit, they would call people from that list. She gave more advice on interviews, like going in person with a resume rather than online being a better choice, and she even told me about a few places that were hiring.
Overall most impressive interview I've had so far.
Applied online, then came in after arranging an interview time with the store manager over a call. Though it was a pretty last minute interview, it was a relaxed but comprehensive experience. Felt like there was an actual back and forth rather than just being judged as the interviewee. Was given a contract at the end of the interview.
