I applied online for a senior consulting role around end of November 25. I got a screening call within 3-4 days, then a 30 mins interview with the hiring manager 3 days later. The following week I had a 45 mins technical interview, then moved to the final VP call about 10 days after. The whole process was smooth, efficient, and the feedback was positive throughout. Then there was silence for a few weeks (Xmas holidays included). After a few follow up messages and emails, I was informed that I am being considered for other roles as well, hence the delay. Then after some more silence, I got the standard rejection email including "other candidates were more closely aligned with our requirements...". No courtesy calls or even a moderately personalized feedback, even though I later asked for it very politely. A word of caution especially if your time is valuable: there were few signals that this job vacancy serves some other purpose than actual hiring that I missed; the job being open for more than 8 months with frequent re-postings on LinkedIn, JD is identical across several roles, lack of clarity about the role, juniors present in interviews without a clear purpose, and the disproportionate number of job openings by a company of this size. I normally avoid posting negative feedback about companies as I can't be certain of the motives, but the pattern of disregard for people's time, hopes and life circumstances is becoming too persistent in the job market to ignore. So I felt the obligation to warn you against falling for some likely theatrics, or even worse, being part of an organization that doesn't give you the respect you deserve.
