I interviewed with Cerity Partners over the course of approximately three months, and unfortunately the process felt disorganized from start to finish.
Communication was inconsistent, and I often had to follow up multiple times just to understand next steps. There were long periods of silence, and several scheduling delays appeared to revolve around internal availability and vacation schedules, which were never communicated proactively.
During one interview, the person who would have been my direct manager shared that they had only learned that day they would be managing the role. That left the impression that the hiring team itself was still figuring out the position and interview process. Several interviews also felt unstructured, with interviewers appearing unprepared and asking overlapping or repetitive questions.
The most frustrating part was the timeline. After completing the final round, it took more than a month to receive a rejection. Based on the conversations throughout the process, I left my final interview believing I was a strong contender, so the extended silence made the experience even more disappointing.
I understand that hiring decisions are complex and that companies have the right to choose the candidate they believe is the best fit. However, after investing three months in the process, I expected more transparency, clearer communication, and greater respect for candidates’ time.
If you’re actively interviewing with multiple companies or working under a deadline, be prepared for a potentially lengthy process with uncertain timelines.
