      Senior Marketing Manager Interview

      Apr 15, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Campbell, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ChargePoint (Campbell, CA) in Mar 2016

      Interview

I applied for the role online and was promptly contacted by HR for initial screening. A few days later I had a phone interview with the head of Marketing and she was very detailed and the experience with her was positive. Subsequently I was called to the office to interview with about 6 people over 5 hours. It was well planned and gave me an opportunity to meet the leaders from, marketing, sales, Operations and HR. All the interviews went well but the Marketing director was too keen in knowing why a Director with 10+ years experience apply for a senior manager role. I think she was trying to figure out whether I could do her job. The HR interview I found was a bit narrow she was more interested in finding out what my current salary is and when I gave that I realized she will not recommend me as I was out of her budget and she was not interested to find out that this person is willing to take a cut due to the industry switch or does not want to relocate outside Ca with his current employer. The whole cool and open minded culture went out the door. Also I found it offensive and unprofessional on part of HR that after almost having me in for a full day there was no closing done ie. "you were great but we found someone with a better fit. Thanks for taking the time etc etc."
