Chemonics International Internship interview questions

I was called for an interview by an associate, s/he came across my application in their database. S/he asked some basic screening questions and invited me to a panel interview the following week. The night before the interview, I was sent over several forms to fill out for background verifications by the recruitment department and an invitation to take a language test. I interviewed the following day and I thought it went well. I met w/ 3 associates, 2 from the region where the spot would have been, and one other. Questions were pretty basic about my experience and interests (they were read from a sheet). On my way out I asked the person escorting me when a decision would be made, s/he said about a week and a half. I submitted all the documentation w/in 2 days of the interview and currently at almost 3 weeks after the fact no references have been contacted and neither have I. I am assuming I did not get the spot.

I was contacted for a phone interview and was then asked to come in the next week for a panel interview. There was one person from a different region and two people from the region that the job I was interviewing for was in. They asked generic personality and fit questions. They then sent an email to my listed references to ask them some personality questions about me. A little later I was offered the job.
